The 2011 Lego Design Challenge is on!
The challenge this year is to design a Lego-themed holiday season postage stamp and is open only to residents of the United States who are at least 6 years of age (as of 9/1/2011). Entries will be divided into two age groups; 6-14 and 15 and up which is a big age difference so hopefully the ages of the children will be taken into account.
The Grand Prize winner will be featured on the cover of the Lego Shop At Home catalog and their stamp will be made into a Lego Mosaic while 50 finalists will receive a copy of set 10222 – Winter Post Office.
You can download the entry form at the Lego site which also includes a Lego Stamp template which has to be used to design the stamp. Judging in the challenge will be based on the following criteria: Originality and Creativity of Creation – 60%; Appropriateness of Creation to Theme – 40%.
The challenge sounds like a great opportunity for Lego/Design-minded kids, but keep in mind that entries close September 30th 2011.
Good Luck!
