Lego Batman 2 Video Game – DC Super Heroes

Lego Batman 2 Video GameI must confess I haven’t played the Lego Batman video game, though I know a few people who have been addicted to it (Chris I’m looking at you!).

However having played most other Lego video games I know that any new release announcement is cause for celebration, even if most fans know the announcement is inevitable and just wish Lego and traveller’s Tales would just hurry up and get on with announcing it 🙂

Well they have…

Lego Batman 2 Video Game

In LEGO Batman™ 2: DC Super Heroes, the Dynamic Duo of Batman and Robin join other famous super heroes from the DC Universe including Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern to save Gotham City from destruction at the hands of the notorious villains Lex Luthor and the Joker. Batman fans of all ages will enjoy a new and original story filled with classic LEGO videogame action and humor as players fight to put the villains back behind bars.

“LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes builds upon the action and cooperative gameplay experience established in our best-selling LEGO video game to date, LEGO Batman: The Videogame,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games. “We’re offering fans a rich and expansive Gotham City environment filled with cool characters, great customization options and plenty of surprises that families, young gamers and DC Universe fans can enjoy together.”

“LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes further extends and combines both the Batman and LEGO videogame experiences to create very fun gameplay,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Development and Production, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Fans of all ages are going to enjoy the action and light hearted humor that TT Games and LEGO provide.”

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes allows players to explore all new areas of Gotham City utilizing a variety of vehicles including the Batmobile and Batwing. In addition, they’ll be able to fight for justice by mastering new gadgets and suits, such as Batman’s Power Suit and Robins’ Hazard Cannon, and using all-new abilities including flight, super-breath and heat vision.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is being developed by TT Games and will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. For more information, please visit”

The Lego Batman 2 Video Game sounds wonderful and as a fan of the DC Universe (beyond Gotham City) I am pretty excited about playing this one with friends.

On another note, I apologise for the lack of updates recently. Moving house and Christmas cheer have me on the back foot but I have great plans for The Brick Life in 2012.

See you soon,

Lego SuperHeroes 2012 – Reviews, Set Guides and Images

Lego Superheroes 2012Lego Superheroes 2012 must be the year’s most anticipated Lego theme.

Building on their previous licences for DC’s Batman characters, Lego is not only incorporating the rest of the DC Universe into the Lego Super Heroes theme but also bringing the Marvel Universe in for good measure.

And if you know anything about mainstream comics, getting the two biggest superhero publishing companies in the same room for anything is a major coup!

Lego Superheroes 2012 starts off with a small wave of DC Universe releases in April 2012. The sets in this wave are mostly reissues – updates of sets released in 2006-2007.

The Batcave, Batmobile, Batwing and the Catcycle have all been featured in sets before although the 2012 versions feature newly designed vehicles and minfigures.

The major new release in this initial wave is the Superman Vs Lex Luthor set which contains the first release of both Superman and Wonder Woman minifigures.

As Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are the big hitters (known as the The Trinity) in the DC Universe it makes sense they be the first of the super hero minifigures to be released.

All sets feature a comic book inside the box which is a wonderful way to enhance the set’s playability as well as get kids in touch with the roots of the characters and stories.

We will update this page as more Lego Super Heroes 2012 sets are revealed.
