Lego Lord of the Rings Sets
The sets in this theme draw from the Lord Of the Rings trilogy and feature all of the nine members of the Fellowship of the Ring; Four Hobbits – Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Pippin and Merry, Two Humans – Aragorn and Boromir, One Dwarf – Gimili, An elf – Legolas and a wizard – Gandalf.
These nine were drawn from the major races of Middle Earth – Men, Elves, Dwarves and Hobbits, to take the evil master ring to Mount Doom in the dark reaches of Mordor and cast it into the fires, destroying it forever.
Lego The Hobbit Sets
The Hobbit is a prequel to The Lord Of the Rings and features Frodo’s Uncle Bilbo Baggins. While lighter in tone and originally meant as a children’s story, the films based on the book are made for a more mature audience (and rated as such).
Other characters featured in the sets include Gandalf the wizard and thirteen dwarves – Fili, Kili, Oin, Gloin, Dwalin, Balin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori, Ori and their leader Thorin Oakenshield who journey with Bilbo over the Misty Mountains to claim their long forgotten gold.
