I love Lego dioramas and Star Wars has been a favorite since childhood, but I have to admit this Lego Star Wars Diorama made into a working barrel organ took some getting used to.

I certainly appreciate the effort that went into the creation, a work of Lego master builder Rene Hoffmeister, but it just seems a little sacrilegious to strap anything this beautiful to a barrel.

The diorama was designed and created to celebrate the release of the Phantom Menace in 3D and contains scenes from all movies and includes the worlds of Hoth, Tatooine, Endor, Naboo and the Death Star.

The feature which sets this creation apart is that by rolling the barrel, strategically positioned raised structures on the diorama hit piano keys which in turn play, you guessed it… John Williams’ famous Star Wars theme.

Wow! 100 points for originality…what will Lego fans think of next (I’m almost afraid to ask!)?

The Lego Star Wars Barrel Organ will be moved to Legoland Germany after it’s tour of European cinemas.
