Lego is making a huge contribution to the US Marines’ Toys For Tots Program this year.
For every e-card or greeting sent through their Lego Santa Yoda website the Lego Group is giving one Lego toy to the program.
At time of writing the donations have exceeded 38 000 toys and Lego will continue until the donations reach 1 million!
The Toys For Tots program has the following objective:
“The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.”
Lego is sponsoring the program this year and has combined it with one of their most popular themes, Star Wars.
On the Lego Yoda Santa webpage, you can also enter a contest by creating your own Christmas themed Lego drawing, photograph or video. By uploading it onto the site, you are automatically entered into the draw and and others can see your designs.
I’m thinking a Santa sleigh-podracer would be cool!
Lego has also produced a number of videos to accompany their Star Wars Christmas theme and you can check two out below.
