The film is written and directed by the team behind Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and the relaunch of 21 Jump Street and will also be co-directed by the director of Robot Chicken –so no doubt it will be uber-funny.
As the film is being produced at Warner Brothers it is also confirmed that DC Super Heroes Lego Superman and Lego Batman will appear in the film – DC Comics is owned by Warner Bros.
Will Arnett (Arrested Development) is confirmed to voice Batman with Channing Tatum (Magic Mike) rumored to be interested in signing on to voice Superman.
So what about the plot?
Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation) as Emmet, an “instruction worker” in the Lego world who has zero creative skills and can only build from the provided manual.
When he is mistakenly identified as a legendary MasterBuilder, Emmet reluctantly embarks on a quest to prevent an evil tyrant from gluing the world together. Lego: The Piece of Resistance, itself an 80/20 blend of Lego-animation and live-action, also features Robot Chicken director Chris McKay as a co-director under Lord and Miller.
Lego: The Piece of Resistance will open on February 28th, 2014 and will be screened in 3D.
