Toy Sale Australia 2012 – Kmart, Big W, Target & More

Big-W-Toy-saleIn Australia it is That Time Of The Year for Lego fans – Yep, Toy Sales at all major department stores including Kmart, Big W, Target, Myer and other smaller outlets.

There are some huge savings to be had and it is the perfect time to buy or put on lay-by toys for Christmas – after all its only six months away as one retailer blared to me on a sign the other day (seriously?).

Sarcasm aside I find myself rifling through online catalogues trying to find sets at the best price and even coveting sets I would never even looked twice at if they were at full retail price.

So what is on offer this year?

You can order and lay-by online at a few places:

Boys Toys?

On a side note, I’m super-impressed with Big W for not labelling Lego a “Boys Toy” (Target I’m looking at you…sternly!) and putting them under the heading of “Construction Toys” instead.

One small step for humanity there. Ironically when you select “Lego” under the “Boys Toys” heading in the online Target catalog the first sets that come up are…Lego Friends! Maybe Target are more open minded than I give them credit for?

As more deals and savings from the 2012 Toy Sales come to light we’ll update this page.

Happy hunting!

    Just an update on this:
Toyworld have Jabba’s Palace listed as $179 but if you print out their online Coupons and take them in store you can save an additional $20, taking it down to $159. You can also save more on Saesee Tiin’s Starfighter.
See the link to coupons in the above post.

Myer is also offerring an additional 10% off Toys on Friday for Myer One card holders.
They have LOTR sets as well as the Star Wars new sets.
The Malevolence is particularly good value, at $179 RRP, $139 on special, down to $125 with the 10% off.
    Cheers

      Ah No!
I have heard Big W are having trouble stocking a few things – especially the larger Star Wars sets like the Super Star Destroyer.
Your mum should be able to find Friends sets at Myer and also online at Target.
      Good luck!

The price for the R2-D2 set at Target ($199) is the best I’ve seen on the planet so far, including BrickLink, etc.

    • Inger says:

      Hey Alan
Yes its a very appealing price.
I managed to layby one on Target online…even though I convinced myself I wasn’t interested in it.
Such is the addiction for Lego 🙂
      Cheers
