The LEGO Movie Teaser Trailer from Warner Brothers has just been released and gives us a wonderful preview of the 2014 major movie release from The LEGO Group.
While LEGO has released other movies in the past, all of those have been made for TV, DVD or Youtube. The LEGO Movie (yes that is actually the name of the movie) will be released in cinemas and even have a 3D release.
The film, also called “The Piece Of Resistance” features the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elisabeth Banks and Liam Neeson and will be released in cinemas on February 7th 2014.
The 3D computer animated adventure tells the story of Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world.
He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.
The movie looks great and, even though it is entirely computer generated, with the slightly “jerky” movements of the characters it seems to pay homage to the legion of LEGO stop-motion fan-made movies that populate Youtube.
With the team behind Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs at the helm, The LEGO movie looks like it will be another success for the company.
