Lego English Activity Sheets – Indiana Jones & Mars Mission

Lego English Activity SheetsOne of the major reasons I purchase Lego books for my son is that I know he will read them, read them again and then re-read them (over and over).

Considering he is what you would call a “reluctant reader” this is is an amazing accomplishment and testament to the fact that kids will learn about what they are truly interested in.

The Lego Magazine has been a wonderful source of additional reading for my kids over the years and also has provided them with opportunities to practice their writing skills.

In 2008-2009 the magazine published Lego related stories that allowed children to fill in their own words and ultimately expand on or finish the story themselves. Personally I think these activities are a wonderful way for children to engage with writing without demanding too much from them – especially if they aren’t confident in creative writing.

You will notice that the two examples I have scanned below are blank – My kids were both too young for this exercise when the magazines came out, which is lucky for you! Hopefully you will be able to share them with your children and perhaps even help them make-up more Lego-related stories.

The following pages are from:

  • Indiana Jones Activity Sheet: Lego Club Magazine Issue 4 2009
  • Mars Mission Activity Sheet: Lego Club Magazine Issue 1 2008
