Lego Legolas is the latest Lord Of the Rings character to be minifigurized as part of the upcoming Lego Lord Of the Rings theme.
The spirited elf, played by Orlando Bloom in the Peter Jackson directed trilogy, will apparently be featured in 2012’s The Hobbit prequel films as well which is sure to raise a few eyebrows. Either way he will be a popular figure amongst fans in July when Lego releases their first Lord Of the Rings sets.
Looking at the figure and a comparative still from the films I think Lego have done a pretty amazing job capturing the character’s likeness.
As the Lego Elf Collectible minifigure is my favorite of the range so far I heartily welcome any elven additions to Lego. The fact that it is the one and only Legolas is an extra bonus!
Interestingly this is also Orlando Bloom’s second minifigure incarnation – Will Turner from Pirates of The Caribbean is the first. Is this a first for an actor?

Legolas in the movie will only raise eyebrows of people who don’t know their Tolkien lore. Legolas is the son of King Thranduil, the elf king who features prominently in the events of the 2nd half of the Hobbit. It’s very reasonable that his son would be around and the only reason he’s not in the book is that the character hadn’t been created yet, given that the Hobbit preceded LotR.
Hey thanks for that.
I have read both The Hobbit and Lord Of the Rings but must admit to being ignorant of the lineage of all the characters, something JRR wrote in such beautiful detail. I am never very good at remembering names…
I appreciate you letting me know 🙂 and now can look forward to seeing Legolas again.
Cheers

Harrison Ford has appeared in minifig form as Harrison Ford and as Han Solo. I can’t think of any others though!
Hi Mike
Yes well done, of course how could i forget!?
Harrison Ford has been immortalized in Lego as both Indiana Jones and Han Solo. And now Orlando Bloom as Will Turner and Legolas. I wonder who will be the first to get to three?
Cheers
