US Toy Retailer Toys R Us recently expanded their market share to international countries, allowing most of their stock (including most Lego sets) to be shipped overseas.
While ToysRUS has a dubious reputation for marking up the price of most of their Lego sets, especially the exclusive ones, this change in their shipping restrictions gives overseas customers access to a number of sets that are either over priced in our own country or simply unavailable.
Shipping is relatively cheap, around $20 per set, but considering you can purchase a set like the UCS Imperial Shuttle for under $260 and only pay $20 shipping that is a great deal for this large set (try shipping it anywhere within Australia for under $20!).
Other sets to consider:
- Maersk Train
- Millennium Falcon
- Harry Potter Diagon Alley
- Exclusive sets like Star Wars Hoth Base & Super Heroes Dynamic Duo Fun House
Don’t get too excited! My sister just tried to do a lego order (all items showing that you can ship to Australia) and when you get to the checkout – it says international shipping not available! Very frustrating!
Hmm
Thats a bummer.
I just received my order of Lego Millennium Falcons yesterday.
They were in beautiful condition and cost at least $100 off the local RRP including shipping.
The boxes were just within standard Lego shipping cartons (no extra padding) but arrived in perfect condition.
Guess you have to choose your sets?

Worked fine for me. Just ordered the Friends Summer Riding Camp for my daughter. It’s $160 in Australia, but I got it for just $89 on TRU with shipping just $25. So I saved nearly $50!
@Stephanie – when it first presents shipping costs (calculated for US) there is a small “international shipping” link that you have to hit nearby. It’s real easy to miss…
Awesome Nick!
Yes I end up having to click the International Shipping option twice in the checkout process sometimes too.
But it works.
Glad you saved some money there, on such a great set too.
Cheers
